In other words, a mere 10% of managers spend their time in a committed, purposeful, and reflective manner". Ma andando a leggere più in profondità, emerge un semplice studio sulla mancanza di un chiaro "purpose", un obiettivo di lungo termine chiaro e motivante... Dunque, escluso il 10% di cui sopra, gli altri sarebbero*energetic but unfocused; *had low energy, little focus and tended to procrastinate; *focused, but not very energetic. Tutti quanti si accinsero a preparare il programma. Il coniglio pretendeva che nel programma ci fosse la corsa. L'uccello pretendeva che ci fosse il volo. Il pesce pretendeva che ci fosse il nuoto. Lo scoiattolo pretendeva che ci fosse l'arrampicarsi sugli alberi. Anche tutti gli altri animali pretendevano che le loro specialità fossero incluse nel programma, e così alla fine ci misero tutto e commisero l'errore grandioso di pretendere che tutti gli animali seguissero tutti i corsi. Il coniglio era magnifico nella corsa; nessuno sapeva correre come lui. ma gli animali sostenevano che era un'ottima disciplina intellettuale ed emotiva insegnare il volo al coniglio. Insistettero perchè imparasse a volare e lo misero su un ramo e dissero: "Vola, coniglio!". E quel poverino saltò giù, si ruppe una zampa e si fratturò il cranio. Gli restò una lesione al cervello e non potè neppure correre forte come prima. Così anzichè prendere 10 nella corsa, prese soltanto un 7. E gli diedero 6 in volo in considerazione del suo impegno. La commissione che aveva varato il programma era felice. La stessa cosa capitò all'uccellino... sapeva volare come una freccia e compiere bellissime evoluzioni, e meritava 10. Ma pretesero che scavasse tane nel terreno come una marmotta. naturalmente si ruppe le ali, il becco e tutto il resto e non potè più volare. Ma la commissione fu ben contenta di dargli 7 in volo e così via.&lt;br /&gt;E sapete chi riuscì meglio in tutta la classe? Insnegli anni in cui maturava anche da noi una coscienza sul problema della disabilita' in una societa' alla ricerca del bello-perfetto.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ma oltre all'infantile messaggio in tipico american-dream style: "c'e' una speranza per tutti", la disabilita' non e' un limite e compagnia cantante... si trattava davvero di fantascienza... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;...o no? Beh... direi di no. Un articolo provocatorio chiaramente, nello stile visionario di Wired, ma &lt;a href="http://www.wired.it/magazine/archivio/2009/07/storie/smart-drug-.aspx"&gt;ripreso persino nell'edizione Italiana&lt;/a&gt;, con uno scrittore Bolognese che ha testato su se stesso gli effetti della pozione miracolosa...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.wired.it/magazine/archivio/2009/07/storie/smart-drug-.aspx"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img src="http://services.condenetint.com/dam/681x430/a_c/cover-large_3.jpg" border="0"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;E se il CNR si preoccupava in Maggio dell'&lt;a href="http://www.adnkronos.com/Speciali/Scienza/NotizieManuali/250509.html"&gt;abuso di droghe da parte degli studenti alle perse con l'esame di maturita'&lt;/a&gt;, il vero nodo da sciogliere e' capire che effetti avra' questa rincorsa virale dell' "augmented generation" al resto del mondo. Molti non era pronti nemmeno per Pistorius, figuriamoci dover discutere dell'effetto che potranno avere le smart drugs sul mercato del lavoro quando diventeranno pane quotidiano dei Baby Boomers, sempre piu' lontani dalla pensione ed alle prese con l'innato desiderio di restare competitivi (e vincenti) per sempre. Ignari, mentre il futuro li raggiunge contromano e li travolge... direbbe Nietzsche, "&lt;span style="font-style:italic;"&gt;che il superuomo viva&lt;/span&gt;" e forse e' gia' cosi': ci preoccupiamo degli OGM ma l'umano modificato (o il post umano) avanza a grandi passi, e' tra noi quotidianamente. Il doping, gli psicofarmaci, le "smart drugs", la selezione genetica, le protesi ipertecnologiche sono stati i pezzi di un puzzle semplicissimo da assemblare ma del quale ci siamo spesso disinteressati, credo per un comprensibile orrore. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eppure accade mentre parliamo: nel futuro che inizia domani mattina insieme al cappuccino, la competizione tra superumani trascendera' dalla conoscenza acquisita e dall'esperienza diretta, dipendera' molto piu' dalla capacita' che avranno di trovare velocemente ed applicare nozioni ed informazioni gia' disponibili. Trovare e sapere diverranno probabilmente sinonimi ed il valore del lavoro manuale tornera' ad essere oggetto di contrattazione... perche' sapersi muovere con un esoscheletro e farlo performare al meglio equivarra' ad avere una capacita' artigianale. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ci stiamo evolvendo ancora una volta, stiamo affrontando un nuovo capitolo; il mondo cambiera', e non sara' piu' brutto o piu' bello, sara' diverso...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;...se un uomo del medioevo ci avesse visto attarversare la strada in una metropoli trafficata e respirare veleni, o mangiare pesce crudo al mercurio, avrebbe avuto paura del futuro. Ma cosa avrebbe pensato nello scoprire che si puo' campare il doppio, che non si muore piu' di molte delle malattie che conosce lui e che la mortalita' infantile e' ridotta ad un decimo? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il futuro e' sempre terrificante e meraviglioso. Ma se tutti avessero la possibilita' di vivere il 14% in piu' da subito... e non come frutto di una evoluzione o del cambio radicale di abitudini alimentari... tutti, da subito... ecco, quello sarebbe un bel romanzo di fantascienza, in stile catastrofista. Sara' interessante capire cosa ci riserva il prossimo futuro, perche' di certo la convergenza internet-mobile puo' cambiare il mondo, ma e' l'arrivo di device ispirati come l'IPhone e la Wii (che hanno logiche di utilizzo da fantascienza rispetto ai precedenti) che fa esplodere la febbre e moltiplicare le opportunita'. Questa piccola fantasia di un designer ne e' un esempio: l'integrazione del reale con le informazioni del virtuale crea un nuovo livello di conoscenza, pressoche' infinita ed in real time. basta collegare le immagini, internet ed un gps... il device riconosce luoghi ed ambienti, ricollegando magicamente le informazioni connesse: dicendo il nome di chi abita un appartamento, condividendo il suo ultimo Twitter o la disponibilita' di posti per la cena nel ristorante davanti al quale siete capitati in vacanza, insieme ad una nutrita racconta di suggerimenti presa da TripAdvisor. Immaginare che non esistano piu' docenti e' una illusione - peraltro inutile - ma diminuirli in modo considerevole ed affidare il resto ad un knowledge sharing estremo, fatto di utenti-professori, capaci di attivare un vero mercato della conoscenza... ecco... questo e' piu' facile. Un open-source fatto di utenti... dove tizio insegna a caio e sempronio guadagnando soldi per comprarsi le lezioni di Vint Cerf magari, perche' no? Il 90% delle volte i manager tendono a reagire secondo schemi conosciuti, consueti e familiari, che possono determinare la disfatta.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Crea un piano flessibile&lt;/span&gt; che faccia risultato nello shotr term&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Guarda in faccia la realta'&lt;/span&gt;: essere circondati di "yes-man" non aiuta in tempi di crisi. Per superare le difficolta' e' necessario un ambiente che permetta alle persone di esprimersi liberamente e far emergere tutti gli elementi (barriere, opportunita'...) che possono contribuire a risolvere o limitare la crisi. Per fare questo il leader deve dimostrarsi onesto, trasparente, dire le cose come stanno, incitare gli altri a fare lo stesso, essere pronto al confronto.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Aumenta l'investimento in "capability"&lt;/span&gt;: in tempi di crisi servono ancora piu' capacita', piu' risorse, che spesso sono disponibili internamente, ma vanno sviluppate, valorizzate. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Ascolta di piu' &lt;/span&gt;customer, fornitori e consumatori: il network allargato permette di catturare i trend, anticipare le problematiche e focalizzare sulle soluzioni che servono realmente, risparmiando energie e massimizzando i risultati. Una multinazionale di grandi ambizioni si interessa a lei, la contatta, la intervista... le fa un'ottima offerta immediatamente: maggiori possibilita' di carriera e di sviluppo, stipendio nettamente piu' vantaggioso e con maggiori prospettive di crescita, benefit aggiuntivi. La sede di lavoro e' in una localita' del Sud Europa. La ragazza prende tempo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tornata a casa dopo l'incontro, si collega ad un sito: Google Health. L'archivio a cui accede con login e password e' relativo a tutta la sua storia sanitaria, le visite, le analisi del sangue, gli interventi, le malattie e le medicine assunte. Ogni cosa e' stata archiviata dai suoi medici curanti ed analizzata dal software. Dalla prima pagina del suo account, il giovane talento lancia una simulazione: cambia la sua citta' di residenza inserendo quella della nuova offerta di lavoro e modifica il datore di lavoro... il sistema, che raccoglie dati da sensori sparsi in giro per il mondo, le propone immediatemente una serie di parametri relativi all'analisi atmosferica, alle condizioni di vita, al sistema di assistenza sanitaria del paese, allo stato delle fonti di approvvigionamento idrico, al coefficiente di rischio pandemico ma anche alle analisi di clima dell'azienda, al livello di stress medio dei suoi dipendenti e cosi' via...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;... pochi minuti e la simulazione e' terminata: cambiando lavoro, l'aspettativa di vita della ragazza passerebbe da 76 a 69 anni. The exploratory results moved us forward to creating a modular and integrated social framework to consolidate current "islands" of blogs, forums and wikis and add new capabilities such as the people connection that professional networking brings.  We are 1.5 weeks away from launching the first phase of bringing robust social tools in-house to augment and improve the way our employees connect and collaborate today.  I get asked a lot about "Why" we are doing this and the value we believe we will bring to Intel. Allora , la storia e' questa: un simpatico italiano ha creato chip (avete presente la roba di Intel e AMD? Quello.) e ne ha condiviso in rete gli schemi... chiunque lo puo' ricreare in casa o grazie a forniture cinesi low cost per un prezzo irrisorio. Lo stesso Banzi ve lo vende a 50 euro, E se il chip e' praticamente gratis, allora un sistema di sicurezza, un impianto di irrigazione, un frigorifero, un sistema di domotica... tutto puo' costare un decimo. Anche meno. Dice l'articolista "sento il rumore di un migliaio di modelli economici che cadono". Anch'io.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Schiacciati dal peso del potere economico del know-how. L'economia della conoscenza e' arrivata davvero? Il Sassicaia, per me, e' l'apoteosi in questo senso. Ecco, con lo Sperss di Gaja siamo in quei pressi: un bicchiere da solo spieghera' anche al neofita piu' scettico che in effetti c'e' differenza tra Leonardo e una crosta. Su Ebay se ne trovano di buone annate anche a 65-70 euro. Lo stesso dicasi per la scelta di puntare su core capabilities che siano distintive ed esternalizzare o comprare il resto: la spesa e' minore ed il tasso di contaminazione e di innovazione piu' alto. Oltre il 60% degli intervistati che si e' dichiarato soddisfatto dai sistemi usati ne vede  un diretto beneficio produttivo... la rivoluzione sta toccando le masse? Dilbert attento!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il 34% degli oltre 2000 executive intervistati utilizza Blog internamente o esternamente, il 32% un sistema Wiki (incredibile) ed il 29% i podcasts. I piu' ragionano sul Knowledge management (83%). Si tratta di un pacchetto di giochi e strumenti per il fitness che include la misurazione dell'indice di massa corporea, esercizi yoga e di rilassamento, giochi d'equilibrio ed aerobici... il tutto combinando il fitness con il gioco. E' una provocazione non da poco quando si ha a che fare con la recessione americana, la concorrenza indocinese ed i tagli con la scure.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Se questo e' il campo di gara piu' ampio, curioso che, scendendo piu' nel dettaglio delle varie aree correlate, siano serviti illustri studi cattedratici per dimostrare che il benessere individuale (&lt;strong&gt;personal well-being&lt;/strong&gt;) e' strettamente correlato con la performance (Wright and Cropanzano, 2004 - ma anche centinaia di altri studi). Ed eccovi l'ultima frontiera della facilitation: &lt;a href="http://www.loosetooth.com/Viscom/gf.htm"&gt;Graphic facilitation&lt;/a&gt;. Un disegno fatto "espresso", come nella miglior cucina d'autore, che traccia una mappa concettuale della discussione, della soluzione o dell'intera questione, soluzioni incluse.
